Dr. Penelope Treece is a North Carolina native and has been an artist since early childhood. After acceptance to the School of Math and Science, she attended college and medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which was a top 10 medical schools at the time, (and she loves basketball) Although she did research in dermatology and radiology, her interests in the art of anatomy resulted in the unavoidable attraction to the surgical specialties.
She did her internship ship and general surgical residency at Louisiana State University Department of Surgery. Charity Hospital is one of the oldest and largest hospitals in America and is known for its Trauma Training and it is here that she published her research developing a new technique for Breast Reconstruction. After additional training in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, Dr. Treece was in private practice in Atlanta for three years. Her love of New Orleans and all it holds: the dining experience the architecture, the history and the great mix of interesting people, however, soon called her "home" to New Orleans.
So it is in New Orleans that Dr. Treece has settled. She limits her practice to Breast and Aesthetic Surgery and is on staff at Lakeside, Touro, Baptist Memorial, St. Tammany and Lakeview Hospitals. She is a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society, The Orleans and Jefferson Parish Medical Societies, The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, The American Society of Breast Surgeons, The American Board of Surgery, and the Southeastern Surgical Congress, to name a few.
She still paints in the medium of oil, as displayed in her office and local galleries, although her "artistry" is beautifully displayed on many of the local residents as well.
At Southern Aesthetics, Dr. Treece and her staff believe that the "doctor's office" doesn't have to feel or look like a hospital. Stepping into our new facility, you'll feel like you've just been swept off to the French West Indies. You'll feel soothed and relaxed whether you're being seen for a breast problem or there for a facial or massage. Our philosophy is that being healthy, looking younger, and living well go hand in hand. Along that line of philosophy goes our motto of "less is more". Our therapies are designed to involve as little down time as possible and to leave you looking and feeling more youthful and healthful, not "pulled so tight you could break". Taking the plastic out of surgery is our ultimate goal. You'll find all our staff down to earth and friendly and you'll leave naturally enhanced.
Our certified staff of massage therapists, aestheticians and of course, the surgeon, are interested in meeting your every need. Whether you're concerned about a breast mass or cellulite, we'll address the problem and you'll get results. Cosmetic consultations are complementary and we accept most insurance plans. If you're looking for a difference that matters, you've found us.
