Cheek lift

A standard facelift will not address the deep lines that extend from the nostrils to down along the corners of the lips, although it will lift the jowling that occurs along the jawline. A different procedure addresses the falling cheek-deepening the folds from the nose to the mouth corners and hollowing out around the eyes. Sometimes this is due to aging and sometimes it's due to heredity. Some patients are born with a full lower face, giving them the apparent absence of cheekbones and a round or "moon pie" face.

Actually there are two procedures that address this issue. A mid-face lift entails larger incisions, increased risk of nerve injury due to extensive dissection and extended swelling with a longer recovery time. It is also quite expensive and requires extended time in the operating room. This procedure was invented to target the cheek area years ago by some very talented surgeons. Because of the above mention drawbacks, it is not very popular and not often done, compared with the standard facelift. This can result in the standard facelift looking like an older woman pulled tightly, instead of looking more youthful. A new procedure, called the endotine endoscopic facelift allows the surgeon to lift the midface or cheek area with tiny incisions and a much quicker recovery. It is also much less expensive and requires less operative time.

The Endotine involves surgically placing a little device with "lifting hooks" inside the cheek area. Over time the device dissolves and the cheek stays in place due to having healed down in its new position. We will show you this device in the office and demonstrate how it works. If your cheek area is falling, it is an innovative and much easier way to achieve a subtle younger appearance.
